CASE STUDY ANALYSIS 5
Programdevelopment is concerned with the formulation and implementation ofplans with the sole purpose of achieving some objectives. Whenconducting this process, it is essential to plan what is to beachieved and come up with a design, which will define how thedevelopment process will take place. In program development, it isessential to evaluate the impact that the project will have. Thisway, it is possible to assess the resources required to make theprogram successful. The paper is an analysis of the case named VitogoVillage-A Case Study of SMILE Health Program.
of the Case Study
Thecase study is a health program, which aims at improving the health ofa population in a rural locality known as Vitogo Village. Moreover, the project is concerned with the improvement of lives through theuse of sustainable medicine. The medical experts operating in thevillage play an essential role in changing the health outcomes of theresidents. “Some of the proposals that the medical team has madefor health improvement include eating foods that are fresh, as wellas regular exercises” (FRIEND, 2014). Based on the video, it isapparent that the program has empowered people economically, thusenabling them to get out of poverty. From the interviews conductedwith the residents, it is evident that most of them benefitted fromthe health program.
Analysisof why the Case Study is important
Thecase study is essential to the understanding of Macro social workpractice. Through the case, one gets to understand the importance ofprograms whose aim is to improve people’s health. The case can beused in to make policies that can improve the health of a population.“Social workers can use the case to make assessments and implementplans in communities with the aim of preventing diseases, as well asaddressing any existing health conditions” (Strader,Collins & Noe, 2012).In the practice of Macro social work, the article can be used tomobilize communities and organizing initiatives aimed at addressingneeds that affect a community. The case highlights the effect offitness and healthy eating habits in the improvement of health. Withthe program, it is possible to understand the various ways throughwhich non-communicable diseases can be avoided (FRIEND, 2014). Thecase has depicted how affordable health programs can be implementedto improve the well-being of marginalized populations. The importanceof the case study also emanates from the fact that it addresses theplanning, development, and organization of programs. Moreover, thecase portrays how social workers can formulate strategies to workwith groups and communities who experience social challenges(Brueggemann, 2014).
Programdevelopment is essential since it enables practitioners to come upwith appropriate ways of addressing a social problem. In the casestudy above, a community was experiencing health problems, and theprogram helped them overcome the conditions. A project should bewell-coordinated and all stakeholders ought to play their roles asstipulated in the plan. The program described in the case study wassuccessful and resulted in positive health outcomes for the affectedcommunity.
