Iwould like to pay tribute to my lovely uncle, John Smith. He died onMarch 31, 2016, due to lung cancer. He was my favorite uncle becausehe took the roles of a friend and a father figure. The discussion isa tribute to my late uncle.
Icome from a single family that is headed by my mother. She has threechildren. I am the first born. My uncle was important in myupbringing because I viewed him as a father figure. He performed allthe roles of a father. For example, he taught me and my siblings howto ride bicycles, swim, and dance. Additionally, he attended most ofmy school functions because my mother had a sales job that required alot of traveling within and without the United States.
Themusic that is appropriate for the celebration of the life of my uncleis “See You Again” by Whiz Khalifa featuring Charlie Puth. Themusic is emotional because it celebrates the life of a loved person(Trust, 2015). The lyrics of the song remind me of the good times Ihad with my uncle. He corrected me when I made mistakes andencouraged me to respect people, especially my mother and siblings.Mr. Smith loved flashy cars, just like the ones shown in the “SeeYou Again” video. I loved to travel with him in his car over longdistances. The hip hop dance style will be used during the tributeceremony because it was performed by a rap artist (Genius, 2017). Mr.Smith was a fun of rap music.
Hewas a role model to students in the neighborhood because he had agraduate qualification in Electrical Engineering. Education is one ofthe important life goals that he encouraged youths to pursue so as todevelop successful careers in their fields of interest.
Eventhough my Uncle did not have a family of his own, he took good careof his fiancé and my family. My mother appreciated his efforts intaking care of us when she was away on work trips. We will greatlymiss his smile, advice, and love.
