Creatingan Innovation
Iam working with the YXZ Company in my country. YXZ is one of thebiggest companies in the region, and it covers a relatively smallmarket area. It manufactures and supplies motor vehicles in theregion and outside the country. The company realizes huge profits dueto its booming business in the manufacture and assembling ofvehicles. The working climate within the organization is veryconducive in that it has promoted employer-employee relationships. The climate has completely expelled fear and created confidence amongthe employees and gives them autonomy to decide how to perform theirjobs within the organization thus making the business to becomesuccessful in its operations. As a worker, I have tried several timesto evaluate the performance of the YXZ Company and all along theresults are good. But still, the company can perform better andincrease its production which will give it better returns. It can dothis by analyzing and discovering the problems that may pave a way togreater innovations in the future[ CITATION Dug17 l 2057 ].As an employer of the XYZCompany, communication is a problem among the employers, employeesand the outside market. It becomes even difficult to determine, evaluate and access markets in other area because of the poorcommunication. Therefore it will be appropriate if the businessembraces the idea of developing a social network that will connectthe people within the organization and outside the organization toease communication problems and improve its services.
Theidea of creating a social network account that will be open to thepublic will be an ideal solution to this problem. But beforeimplementing it fully, the idea has to go through the SNIff model forevaluation and determine its feasibility. The first criteria employedwas the strategy used to determine the feasibility of the idea. Thegoal of the business was to increase the radius covered. Throughimproving communication network for example owning a Facebook ortwitter account where the businesses advertises and promotes itsproduct it will be able to cover a larger area since it will bereaching many people[ CITATION Cre11 l 2057 ].The second criterion was the needfor the idea.. In this case the business needs to understand theadvancement in the level of technology and most people are conductingtheir business through the use of technology. For the XYX to competefavourably it has to adopt the idea to outdo their competitors in themarket. Therefore through adopting the idea it will play a great partin a achieving the company’s mission. When the idea was examined itshowed positive impact on the company’s well-being. Employers couldbe free to exchange ideas within the organization and the outsideusing the social network which can be implemented within thetimeframe. The organization had enough resources to implement theidea and make it really[ CITATION Mar14 l 2057 ].
Forthe company to achieve its goals and objectives, the top managementshould adopt and implement the idea of social networking which willbe accommodative and participative in nature within the organizationand outside the organization. The company can achieve this throughreshuffling or replace their leaders so as to have a new leadershipstructure which is ready to support and promote innovations. The newleaders should be ready to adopt and give chances and listen to theworkers, ask them new ideas and avoid dismissing any ideas becausethere is limited time. They should also be ready look for reasonsimmediately why a certain idea won’t work rather than remainingopen to exploring its possibilities.
Thesocial network will help to create a conducive business culture thatpromotes innovation. The idea will enable the leaders to reach andlisten to their employees, stay open, collaborate and embrace failureas part of the progress for the company[ CITATION Hoq14 l 2057 ].The business culture created should be flexible and open to newideas, enable allocation of resources, and enable the leaders toinvest in research and development and make efforts of attendingevents, training and networking opportunities to gain relevantbusiness skills for innovation[ CITATION Gov16 l 2057 ].The new culture will complement to the formally-enacted rules ofdoing business activities. It will also make the employee understandand get committed to the organization’s mission that may guide themwhenever confronted by unexpected for which rules don’t exist.Through the use of agood social network, it will create teamwork and improve theproductivity of the organization. It will help to improve theemployer-employee relationship and promote harmony and confidencebetween the two parties. The idea may create and promote innovationand make the employees adapt the new technology for use thuspromoting a positive attitude among the workers[ CITATION Kap13 l 2057 ].
Socialnetwork will influence participative leadership style within theorganization. To implement this, the XYZ Company should come up withan implementation plan so as to promote innovation among the workersin the company. They should start this by selecting a team that willbe responsible for implementing the plan. The newly selectedmanagement team should formulate and implement a plan that will seethe business achieve their objectives at the end. They should startby exploring various approaches to services delivered together withtheir stakeholders. This will help them to determine Areas ofweaknesses and work to improve them[ CITATION Kha13 l 2057 ].
Theteam should draft a written plan which will be used to oversee allthe organization’s activities, make comparisons from the past andthe present performance of the company. The plan prepared should alsohelp to determine the changes needed within the state, regional andthe local infrastructure. It will support and help to sustain theservice delivery within the business and outside the business. Also,it will help to build state capacity for training and promoting theskills of the workers thus supporting and sustaining the new servicedelivery approaches over time. Lastly, for the plan to becomeoperational, it should be disseminated to address all matters thatrange from business activities, timelines, benchmarks, evaluation, roles and responsibilities of the members[ CITATION Kap13 l 2057 ].
Thesuccess of the new idea can be measured through determining theprofit margin of the business. The margin will inform whether somedrastic advancement has been made or not. Also, its success can bedetermined by observing and comparing the relationship that used toexist in the past and at present among the workers and the outsiders.
Inconclusion, if XYZ adopts the innovation of changing itscommunication style, it should ensure that it upholds the ethics ofthe employee and make the environment more conducive. It can performthis by creating a password that will be used by only the workers toaccess the account and post any information concerning the company. Also the social network created should be designed in a way that itwill display the images of the participants on both sides for easymonitoring of the activities taking place
