Discussionon Causes of Infant Death
Infant mortality is increased by the rate of infection and accidents. The rate of infant mortality varies from one region to another.Besides, there is high infant mortality at birth than after birth. The paper will discuss various arguments from various articles aboutcauses of infant death.
Article 1
The article was written for the communities in the United States. Themain idea was developing fetal and perinatal data in different familystatus. The report found that the fetal mortality rate was twice highin black women than in white. The report is correct since the blackwomen have a low-income hence low standard of living than white(MacDormanand Gregory, 2015). The low living standard aggravatedthe fetal mortality in blacks. The report is helpful in this practiceas it provides factual data that is used as evidence. The analysis isrecommendable since it is from a reliable source and it is providingsensitive information.
Article 2
The article was written for Michiganders. The main idea of thearticle was to help communities in Michigan to improve their healthand wellness. The article is right in its opinion that there is animpact of the environment on individuals. In addition, the articleargues that different life stages that need to be optimized toimprove health, which still is correct. The article is helping in ourpractice as it addresses the issue of infant mortality. It developsthe infant mortality reduction plan that strengthens the perinatalcare. The author states that infants born with low birth weightrecorded highest death rate while that of infants with normal weightwas low (Rickand Dazzo, 2012). The argument on infants’ weight isopposable as the death rate could be exacerbated by external factorslike climate. As a result, the birth plan is not recommendable.
Article 3
The article was written for the United States people. The main ideawas to show that there is high infant mortality rate in the UnitedStates than in other countries like in Europe. The author concludesby saying that disadvantaged groups in the United States contributeto the high mortality (Chen,Oster & Williams, 2014). The argument is correctsince there is a large population in the United States that have alow living standard especially the African-Americans. The article isrecommendable since its argument is based on research on thedifference in people’s living style.
In conclusion, infant mortality rate is largely contributed by thelow living standards. According to the articles, it is clear thatinfant mortality is high at birth than after birth. Hence, it isrecommendable to improve perinatal care right from birth.
