America is a superpower country that controls different activities inthe world. The nation has been at the front line controlling theworld economy, regional wars, and nuclear weapons. However, theUnited States spend a lot of capital in implementing these controlpolicies. The high capital demand increases the governmentexpenditures posing various challenges in the country. The paper willdiscuss some of the greatest challenges that are affecting the UnitedStates of America.
War on Terror
Despite enjoying a lot of success in the fight against terror groupsin the world, America has faced several challenges.
Challenge of Ideas
The America army has been reported to lack understanding the natureof terror groups in the world. The policymakers have indicated thatthe war on terrorism has evolved. The groups have been dynamic andare evolving. The wars have resulted in too much death anddestruction of properties. In addition, the terror groups have showndifferent threats. They have developed radiological, biological andnuclear weapons, which create a real threat.
The Challenge of Intensity
The Americans face the challenge of keeping the political will tofight against terrorism. The will should be within the country andoutside the country. Fighting terrorism requires involving foreignlegislators to fund money. They also equip border guards withpowerful arsenals and training specialists who dispose of bombs. Thesystem has kept Americans to live in fear of terror.
The Challenge of Ideals
The America has to maintain their ideals both within and away fromthe country. They have to preserve the universal values such asrespect to liberties, equal justice, and open economies. They have tocreate the world where values are appreciated. There should be apower that enhances freedom.

Rapidly Growing Population
There is rapid population growth inthe United States. As a result, several people are not healthinsured. The number of employments has reduced, which has led to areduction in the level of income. Due to low income, few people arecapable of taking health covers. People who lack medical insurance orMedicaid face the threat of high medical costs for themselves andtheir families.
Disproportionately among theLow-income and Ethnic Minorities
Most adults lack health insurance.The challenge is common among the young adults. The rate of uninsuredAsians and blacks is higher than in the whites.
Challenges in the Prison Sector
America’s law against drug abuse,have mostly affected the black people. Although black and whitepeople abuse drugs at the same rate, the blacks are likely to beimprisoned for drug use offenses.
Reports have shown that around10,000 people in America prisons face sexual victimization. Inaddition, there is the problem of private sectors using prisons forbusiness. They provide food to some prisons. The action has led cutfood cost, while on the other hand it has resulted in insufficientfood in prisons and providing foods with maggots (Prins,864).
There are poor health services inmost of America prisons. It has aggravated the mortality rate ofinmates. In addition, the sanitary conditions are deterioratingleading to a high outbreak of diseases.
Many private companies are runningactivities in most of the prisons, which has increased the problems.The private sectors have profit-making incentives and run the systemleanly as possible to maximize profit. Hence, poor living conditionsin the prisons.
In conclusion, several challengesface different sectors in America. Commonly affected areas are healthsector, security and prison systems. The challenges as mentionedabove have aroused due to neglecting of duties by respectivelegislative departments. The government should venture and streamlinethe mode of operation of activities in these departments.
