Question2
Basedon the table above, my family uses less energy (90.94 kWh) per weekagainst the national average of 145kWh per week. Therefore, accordingto the ecological footprint measures, my family demands less energyas compared to the national average requirements (Collins &Flynn, 2015).
Question3
Toreduce household power consumption, three main steps will beessential to adhere to and implemented as soon as possible. The Cambifridge-freezer A++ consumers a lot of power since it remains on for24h a day and 168hrs a week. It is feasible to cut this energyconsumption of the appliance in half by reducing the length of timeit remains on. Secondly, some devices are not mandatory to use, andmanual applications could be utilized instead. For instance, manualdishwashing could help save the power used by the dishwasherappliance. Moreover, ensuring that everyone is present when food isserved would ensure that everyone serves hot meals at all timeswithout having to use the microwave power.
Question4
Powersaved from the Cambi fridge = 16.8kWh per week = 873.6 kWh per year
Powersaved from Dishwasher = 8.4kWh per week = 436.8 kWh per year
Powersaved from Microwave Oven = 10.5kWh per week = 546kWh per year
Totalpower saved = (873.6 + 436.8 + 546) kWh/year = 1856.4 kWh/year.
Question5
Persuadingthe rest of the members to conserve energy could be an uphill task. However, leading by example would one of the most efficient ways todo it. Additionally, I would point to the financial implications ofsaving more energy, which would make sense to the family members. Finally, I would highlight the need for energy security in thehomestead and the community as a whole, so the members can drawlessons to ensure success in power saving (Collins & Flynn,2015).
