Theworld is continuously warming up. As humans continue burning theearth’s oil, coal, and gas reserves and cut down the trees,greenhouses are poured into the atmosphere. More and more heat gettrapped in the atmosphere and is irreversibly transforming the world.The problems caused by climate change are broad and has producedsignificant impacts on economies, ecosystems, and communities. Theyinclude increased desertification, water shortages, more extremeweather and increased catastrophic storms. Other problems encompassincreased acidity of the rainfall and permanent loss of glaciers andice sheets (Arnell, Lowe, Brown, Gosling, Gottschalk, Hinkel &Rose, 2013).
Environmentaland Social Problems
Climatechange affects persons and the environment by several means. Selectedimpacts, for instance, sturdier hurricanes and extreme heat waves,can become hostile to life. Next, it causes ramped up droughts,floods, and other extreme weather. Next, climate change leads to achange in the ecosystem and extinction threats. Further, it affectsthe health of people by increase disease, worsened smog, and freshwater shortages amongst other issues. There can further be a greatereconomic hardship resulting from catastrophic conditions, forinstance, those of the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina (Walthal,Hatfield, Marshall, Lengnick, Backlund, Adkins & Burkey, 2013).
PositiveInfluences of Climate Change
Some of the positive effects of climate change include prevention ofthe next age ice from taking place and fewer injuries or deaths as aresult of the cold weather. Antarctic, Arctic, and Siberia mayachieve more plant growths and warmer climates. Next, Canada’sNorthwest Passage provides leeway for transportation by sea. Themountains rise in altitude due to the melting glaciers, as a resultof rebounding against the missing weight of ice (Arnell et al.,2013). A longer growing season could mean an increased agriculturalproduce in particular localities.
