EuropeanUnion

The is an association of twenty-eight European Countriesthat started in the year 1993 (Kreppel636).It`s both a political and economic union comprising of threeinstitutions, including the Parliament, the Commission, and theCouncil. This essay aims at explaining which of the threeinstitutions of the is most significant. It will alsotell which system I would recommend being dissolved, and my rationaleon the same. Finally, the paper will clarify whether thismulti-faceted decision-making process &quotworks&quot for the.

TheParliament performs the legislative function of EU, and it haslegislative powers that the Commission and the Council do not haveit is the most significant institution in the . Theconcept of significance in the EU refers to the system that theagency relies on significantly. It carries out the supervisory, legislative and budgetary responsibilities that are very crucial tothe Union (Kreppel638).The European Council also has legal duties like the EuropeanParliament nevertheless, its primary function is to offer the EUwith federal guidelines and define the Union’s priorities. Also, itcomprises of the head of state.

TheEuropean Commission operates as a cabinet. I would recommenddissolving this institution because its roles can be conducted by theParliament or the Council. The European Parliament can force theCommission as a whole to resign, meaning it is not as crucial to theUnion as the other institutions (Kreppel641).As such, I would recommend the dissolution of the EuropeanCommission this multi-faceted decision-making process works for the because there are many states involved in the Union. Therefore, there are several responsibilities. Availability of theinstitutions ensures delegation of duties hence, an easy task whilemaking decisions.

Inconclusion, the Parliament is the most significant institution of the. It has an immense deal of indirect power, throughcommittee hearings and non-binding resolutions it also has anindirect influence on the foreign policy, as it has to approve everydevelopment grant, inclusive of those overseas (Kreppel643).Conversely, the European Commission is the least crucial and can bedissolved with minimal effect. As such, the multi-faceteddecision-making process works for the Union.
