The purpose ofresearch is to accept or reject a certain line of thought by givingcredible evidence. Therefore, research requires a postulation (thequestion) and methods that will be used in collecting the evidence toreject or support a given thought or argument (Cohen, Manion, &ampMorrison, 2013). The paper will discuss the impact of methodologiesin thesis.

The first impactis that it gives a strong foundation on the importance of theresearch including defining the type of data. For example, is thedata required qualitative or quantitative? The type of data alsodetermines the technique of analyzing and presenting it. For example,Wilcoxon tests are the best-suited method of analyzing qualitativedata, by ranking (Coleman, 2013).&nbspOn the other hand, trend linesand bar graphs suit well when presenting quantitative data.

Notably, themethodology offers an organized or systematic way through which theproblem will be solved. In other words, it gives steps that will befollowed in developing the answer to the question. The steps lead tothe logical conclusion of the problem. In other words, anyone elsecan rely on the same procedure to address a similar issue (Cohen,Manion, &amp Morrison, 2013). Therefore, the methodology has to beorganized in a logical manner.

Apart fromdefining the procedures that will be used in data collections, themethod gives sample size and justifications. For example, when takingthe opinion of the voters in a political process, one must explainwhy a random sample was preferred to the biased sampling (Coleman,2013).&nbsp Furthermore, this type of explanations allows defense ofthe collected data when it is challenged.

In conclusion, amethodology has many impacts on the research. For instance, itdefines the type of data that will be collected (qualitative orquantitative). In addition, it offers a systematic way to which theanswer to the problem. Finally, it allows other scholars to detectany flaws in the method used to arrive at the answer.
