IntelligenceCollection
Intelligenceis processed information that is associated with data collection, evaluation, collation, integration, analysis and interpretation todeliver information. Intelligence data collection techniques comprisea cycle that is followed by the source of all intelligence. Examplesof intelligence collection techniques include SIGINT, OSINT, IMINT,HUMINT and MASINT (Srinivasan,2016).
Capabilities
Amongall the order techniques, HUMIT (Human Intelligence Gathering) isamong the oldest methods of intelligent gathering and includes theuse of an agent also known as an informer. Although HUMIT can be thebest method of intelligence collection is also believed that it canbe among the worst. HUMIT has the capability of application ofdifferent agencies in the data collection that makes it more reliableand concrete for the data processing (Srinivasan,2016).Also, with many organization collecting data makes it increase itseffectiveness and capabilities.
SIGINT(Signal Intelligence) is a type of data collection that involvesgetting information from electronic signals by automatic recordingand assessment. One of the reasons that make SIGINT be a reliablesource is the technology applied of cryptanalysis of decipheringinformation that makes it more reliable in data collection(Srinivasan,2016).
Limitations.
Satelliteimagery is among the latest and most convenient in intelligent datacollection since it has the capability of flying over the entireplanet (Tiwary,2010).Although satellite provides a wide view surveyance, it faces thelimitation of failure to identify dispersed crowds, and the scale ofit object does not give the required size of the photograph. Also, satellite imagery stores it images on film and negatives that cannotcompare with the electronic screen (Tiwary,2010).
Aircraft/UAVimagery is another technique used in intelligence data collection andworks similarly like a satellite imagery, but it requires launchingin each mission of surveyance. It faces the limitation of occurringmistakes in it navigation results that lead to missing the targethence unreliable data collected (Srinivasan,2016).
