JuliusCaesar and Abraham Lincoln are two different personalities but withunique differences and similarities in many ways. The similaritiesbetween them are comparable in their life history. They were bothleaders in their eras and had a significant amount of power besidestheir assassination. However, their lives and killing were differentin certain aspects but at the same time comparable as they wereperceived to be tyrants from their opposition (Newton,2014).
JuliusCaesar was born in the period 100BC in Rome to Aurelia and GaiusCaesar. During the period, Rome was only a republic, and the statewas commencing. Julius became a leader when people couldn’t makedecisions and managed to form a large army. He used the militarymight to conquer new territories to gain triumph moreover forprestige. Due to his influence, he made many enemies as people sawhim as over ambitious and a threat. Caesar started a war to fight forchange galvanized by his ambition for more power and control. Lateron, he got assassinated by a group of senators (Potter,2014).
AbrahamLincoln was born in Hardin County on February 1809 (Lamon,2014).He, however, lost his parents at a tender age. Lincoln enlisted toparticipate in the Black Hawk War and was quickly elected. Lincolndebated against his opponent, Stephen Douglas, who they differed onslavery. The situation became even worse when Lincoln issued aproclamation that freed all slaves driven by the need of change inthe society. He made many enemies that finally assassinated him asthey opposed his change philosophies.
Consideringboth individuals, they were outstanding personalities in theirperiods. The society looked up to them. Their quest to bring changein the society is what finally resulted in their death. Conservatives viewed them as a threat and were against theirideologies.
Inconclusion, Abraham Lincoln and Julius Caesar were great leaders.They impacted the society differently but finally lost their livesdue to their tough stance for change.
