Every capacity of healthcare requires the presence of acaregiver, from the admission of patients, diagnosis, and treatmentto discharge. In this case, the nurse has comprehensive knowledge ofintervention because of perpetual engagement with other healthprofessionals as well as interactions with patients during duty. Itis against this backdrop that appropriate training and progressiveknowledge are indispensable to meet the requirements of nurturingpractice in a competitive environment. My nursing practice and careerobjectives necessitate the pursuance of a degree in this discipline.With extensive experience in numerous work-related engagements, thereis a perception that acquiring a degree in caregiving would haveimmense contribution to the profession. The principal goal is toenhance and improve service delivery in health institutions.Furthermore, the attainment of the needed accreditations will providethe platform for sharing knowledge, an aspect that will helppositively contribute to the profession.
Takecognizance that I am a registered nurse (RN), fully trained in NewYork University. Besides, thirteen years of engagement in the nursingpractice provides comprehensive experience in the profession. Workingin different capacities and in diverse areas makes me feel wellequipped to pursue a Doctorate Degree in Nursing (DNP). Before risingto the rank of Assistant Director of Nursing at Fieldston Lodge CareCenter, which is my current position, I worked in various othercapacities. Constant interaction with other health professionals suchas general practitioners, specialists, nutritionists, and social careproviders has had a great impact in heightening knowledge on healthprofession. Again, the extensive involvement in care delivery as anurse for those years exposed me to various issues and challenges.The spotlight provided prospects to comprehend the need to pursue adegree in nursing, which would enhance quality care to patients andcompetence to individual practitioner.
Inmy current position as the Assistant Director of Nursing, I getinvolved in many areas touching on critical issues affecting the caredelivery. Working with wound specialist requires advanced knowledgein nursing for better collaboration. In this respect, I work hand inhand with wound doctors where they make recommendations for myimplementation. Besides, I investigate nonsocomial pressure ulcers,an obligation that requires sufficient comprehension of thiscondition. Executing specialist’s suggestion on treating patientswith this ailment is also part of my job description. Such engagementrequires someone with advanced training in nursing hence, the needto acquire a DNP in your venerated institution. Already, I have therequired knowledge or tutelage to understand fundamentals of nursing,which means furthering my education will over and beyond enhance myexperience.
Thecurrent employer engages me in handing in-services, orientation ofnew nurses, and training as well as development of nursing staff.These duties require someone with a broader knowledge of nursing andadequate information on current trends in the profession. Moreover, Imanage and evaluate nursing programs in the organization. I carry outthe review of new potential admissions and re-admissions, develop orupgrade work policies for nurses, supervise infections control, andensure compliance with the federal regulations or nursing standardsin the state. These responsibilities provide the relevant proficiencyin both the nursing practice and management. The engagement preparesme for a more stimulating undertaking, which might require a DNP.With these dexterities, assuming a doctorate is likely to enhance myunderstanding of the profession and enhance my readiness for morecomplex tasks.
Theforemost objective of pursuing a degree is to enhance servicedelivery in the ever-challenging environment. The healthcareenvironment is becoming increasingly competitive and multifaceted dueto emerging issues and complexities. Patient demands are alsochanging with time, hence requiring more knowledge on how to enhancesatisfaction. Meeting the diverse needs of patients in amulticultural environment is also becoming a challenge. Consideringthese elements, advancing knowledge is an essential aspect, which Ishould give a priority. Realizing efficiency in the currentenvironment, which is ever-changing, therefore, calls for an extendedawareness through advanced education. Obtaining a degree intensifiesthe chances of fulfilling the nursing career goal, which is enhancedservice delivery that promotes patient satisfaction. Furthermore, Iintend to increase the competence of other nurses to enhancemotivation and fulfillment. As a nursing personnel involved in thestaff development issue, other caregivers expect to get accurateinformation on the current trends in the practice. When nurses haveaccurate and relevant information, they deliver healthcare moreefficiently. When they realize efficiency, it is easy to eliminate orreduce work-related pressure. Again, the efficient caregiver handlesthe pressure where it is unavoidable. To realize this aspect, thereis need for effective and efficient supervisor in charge of staffdevelopment. Thus, a DNP will not only help serve my objectives, butalso contribute to the enhancement of other nurses working in thehealthcare institution.
TheDNP will have immense influence to the profession. Considering thechallenging assignments in the current engagement, having a degreewould improve the work environment and service delivery in theinstitution. As a supervisor to other nurses in various capacities,there is need to increase comprehension by advancing one’seducation, particularly through established or esteemed institutions.I will be in a better position to share knowledge during developingnursing policies, conducting staff development, and evaluating workprograms in the organization. Such element is likely to improvepatient experience, staff motivation, and output, which are one ofthe critical components of improved nursing practice. In this regard,obtaining a degree would be valuable not only to the individualoutput but also to the profession. My current engagement involvesother caregivers, where my nursing knowledge affects the efficiencyof all other nurses in the organization. Hence, the DNP will have anextensive impact on the nursing profession.
Advancingone’s tutelage is a step towards realizing career goals andimproving the entire profession. With the wealth of experience indifferent areas of nursing practice, it is imperative to acquire theprogressive qualification to impart knowledge to other nurses duringstaff training and development. The task of managing and evaluatingprograms requires adequate knowledge on current issues affecting thenursing practice and changing patient’s demands. Briefly, thedegree will have a great impact on the efficiency of the assistantdirector of nursing and all other nurses in the organization hence,benefitting the profession at large. Throughout my career, I intendto advocate for evidence-based approaches as well as technologicalstructures in major nursing practices. The utilization of thesestrategies will help caregivers to engage easily and offer premiumcare to patients. A DNP, especially if obtained through your admiredinstitution, will inculcate extensive aspects and managementapproaches, which will come in handy in my practice. In this regard,I utilize these elements in engaging with patients or other nursesand promote the cultivation of multifaceted approaches.
