QualityCare vs. Value Reimbursement

QualityCare vs. Value Reimbursement

Themost important priority in Centene Corporation in terms of valuebased payment is the providence of high quality and culturallysensitive healthcare services to patients. The corporation, which hasexpanded its transnational base, has directed much of its focus ondeveloping programs through which it provides quality services to theuninsured patients in the United States of America. Patients havebeen able to benefit from programs such as the States Children HealthInsurance program (CHIP and the Foster Care and Long Term Care (LTC).Although the corporation has experienced an increased enrolment, itfaces some Medicare-related problems.

Centenehas included the Health Net component in its operations, and as aresult, it has been able to keep up with the changes in thehealthcare environment (Bebchuk,Hirst &amp Rhee, 2014).The firm incorporated the value-based payer model in its system tobetter the health services it provides. The model rewards healthpractitioners for their efficiency and effectiveness. Centene doesnot use the fee-for-services model where health care providersreceive payments for the amount of services they provide. More so,the rates for services vary, and every service is paid forseparately. Although the model promotes providence of quality care, the organization`s management has proposed the value-basedreimbursement model since it aims at providing better services topatients. Furthermore, the model allows for the reducing ofhealthcare costs. The best quality healthcare is provided locally andit is one of the core philosophy of Centene. In addition, its managedcare model makes use of integrated programs which can only beprovided effectively by local medical practitioners. It has nowrecognized itself as the leading provider of healthcare services inthe country.
