Amass movement of refugees and immigrants in almost all regions of theworld has been the trending issue over the last few years. Refugeecrisis occurs in situations where there is too much of such mixedmovement beyond the levels that a particular area can hold or sustaintherefore becoming a menace. Issues of war have caused endlessmovements of men women and children to be in constant journeys tolook for safe places for settling. Switzerland is a great victim ofthe refugee crisis and delegates are working tirelessly to find asolution, in particular through global summits.

Thereis a big stir in Switzerland with the trending jargon of the globalrefugee crisis. As more and more refugees are seeking route fromItaly to Germany or Scandinavia through Switzerland, most of thenumber have ended up settling in the Switzerland creating an asylumof refugees in the country (Herkenrath M. 2016). There has also beenentering of refugees into the country through the southern regionTicino head to the northern Swiss area Baden North West of Zurich.Several hundred have now settled in Como on the south border ofSwitzerland. In the year 2016, there were about 33000 refugee seekersin the country with an already more than 73000 refugees and temporaryadmits (Herkenrath M. 2016). Despite the small fraction of refugeescompared to the country’s population, the refugee crisis isstirring Switzerland. According to United Nations statistics, thecrises are the result of people a close to 65 million globallyrunning from war, political victimization or economic instability.Further precluding statistics revealed of discovery by the Swissborder guards identifying 5,760 illegal residents in Ticino area inJuly 2016 (Herkenrath M. 2016). In light of the condition of thecrisis as discussed, there should be strict strategies to counter thecrisis.

TheSwiss legislations should take the status of refugees strictly ascontained in the Geneva Convention.

  1. With the most relevant statutes in the handling and handling of asylums as set forward in the Asylum Act and the Foreign National Act, the Swiss government work in collaboration with the rest of the world should strictly enforce to control the crisis at hand with refugees (Law Library of Congress, 2016).

  2. With Foreign Nationals Act in place, strict regulations to entry and exit, living and family associations of foreign immigrants in Switzerland to control any of illegal border crossings.

  3. In the handling of refugees at the borders, only proper applications of people seeking refuge should be taken into account eliminating all lateral movements of refugees.

  4. Mass immigration initiative control. According to the Law Library of Congress, (2016), there should be the affirmation of the 2014 popular action adoption which was put in place for the annual quotas and the amendment of the agreement of the free movement of people between Switzerland and the European Union (EU)

Conclusion

Therefugee crisis is an issue that despite being of global concern hasparticularly attracted considerable attention in Switzerland. Withthe consistent increase in the movement of immigrants and refugees, there is a need to direct measures to prevent the situation fromworsening. Some of the useful platforms suited in handling the issueinclude Global Problems Summits (GPSs) which bring together theefforts of various countries than a congestion of struggles from asingle country. In light of the above mentioned the world and inparticular the Switzerland government should take up the existingpolicies and drive newer and more effective strategies to address theheightening irregular and unpredictable movements of migrants andrefugees.
