ThingsI Could Have Done Better inExpository Essay
Indeed, the power of revising ones work before putting the final draft cannotbe underestimated.I concur that it helps an individual reorganisetheir writing to look more eppealing to the recipients.Going throughmy last week’s workExpositoryEssay,I have noticed a number of mistakes that if I went through thewriteup, I could have corrected.
Firstly, the essay starts in rather a conversation. I believe there is need tohave given a brief history of the four colligues so that the readersare not entirely lost throughout their reading.I have just noticedthat I bumped my readers into a conversation that neither has a headnor a tail.
Alsonoticeable are a few grammer mistakes here and there that could havebeen corrected in the draft. For example, the words “Sex and Company” appear capitalized yet they are in the middle of asentence. This shows that I did not proofread my work. Also noticeableare some punctuation errors that could have been omited.
Wordchoice in an essay is very essential as they give meaning to enablereaders understand the text.I acknowledge that it is important to usethe right words to express a particular situation. In the secondparagraph line 3 I wrote, “Beautiful women that easily…”insteadof using “who”. The word “that” conotates women to be nonliving while that is not true
Plansfor Revising My Persuasive Essay
Movingforward, to help me revise my next assignment effectively, once Iwrite my first draft, I will put it aside for some time so that Idistance it from myself. Thiswill help me edit the final draft easily as I will have lost thememories about it, and at this instance I will be coming in as anoutsider.
Secondly,to have the experience that my readers will have, I will print out mydraft so that I go through it keenly and make corrections on thepaper.Correcting the work on the screen is not very effective becausethe long prose connected with reading on the screen makes one notable to discern what is important and what is not (Toor 2012).
Finally, I will use some grammer tools to help me identify mistakes that arenot easy to notice on my own. Through the above methods, I willensure that my final draft is beyond reproach.
