Sick Across The World
SickAcross The World
Onthe analysis of the film “SickAcross The World,”it gives illustrations on vital programs which focus on healthcaresystems practiced around the world. I like the film because it showkey elements in the healthcare system and at the same time, it givesout the comparison on health system practiced in United States. Italso provides a good balance through explaining the healthcare systemin different societies to relating to United States as far as income, goals and other broad democratic values concerned. In this way, itgives excellent opportunity through which the healthcare issues getstreamlined to serve people better. Following this perspective, whatI learn from the film is that the United States healthcare system andpractice are different from the rest of the world which to myunderstanding is not necessarily a positive thing as it has otherlimitation to the public especially the low-income individuals.
Throughthe analysis of the film, the most interesting and important are thatthere is no society which has left the healthcare issues regulatedlike the United States does. Concerning the insurance companies andtheir policies in the rest of the world examined like Germany,Switzerland, and Japan, they do not allow the insurance business toplay the disproportionate role like the one experienced in the UnitedStates. It is because the business interest is fundamentally linkedto their benefits regarding profit made but not necessary investingin a real healthcare system. Concerning families and their function,it is true that family provides the daily care and at the same time,it offers personal protection to members who depend upon it. It,therefore, means that like what the insurance does on healthcare, thefamily act as insurance at all times and helps resolve problemsduring crisis times. It means that when the healthcare gets servedefficiently, it will result in a healthy population in the society.
Tosum up, it is essential to stop approaching the healthcare systemregarding business and therefore the role of government is crucial togive regulatory guidelines since it should not get viewed as aneconomic issue only and therefore it would stop interest of the fewindividual people for their benefits.
