Thesis statement

Christian community has a combined workforce and resources that theycan use to stop environmental deprivation and put efforts towardsconservation of both renewable and non-renewable resources.

  2. Data Supporting the Argument

  1. Christians are required to be active in caring for the environment

  2. Since human being was created in Gods image, they also have the duty of taking care of the environment as God did.

  3. Christians can use various ways in reducing environmental pollution. They include renewable energy, recycling and assisting in the reduction of contamination.

  1. Everything that we consume belongs to God and Christians are given free will to conserve the environment.

Call for the Christians to Preserve and Control the Environment

The environment has been degraded for the last decades. It hasbecome a concern for all people to conserve the environment. Thedeprivation of the environment has been attributed to humanactivities and natural eruptions. The increased pollution in theenvironment calls for the Christians to conserve the environment aswell as restoring the environment. The paper discusses why Christiansshould preserve and restore environmental resources.

Christians and they have to Do What they are Created to Do

The human beings were created in God`s image, and they aremandated to behave in the same manner as the God. God is loving andcaring. Christians are supposed to take care of the environment andthe creatures on earth. God created man to take care of the land andeverything in it, and that is the reason they are responsible for theconservation of the environment (Hitzhusen 60). If the environment ispolluted, the creatures in the environment do suffer either directlyor indirectly. The creatures are can die due to suffocation.

Human Beings as Stewards of the Earth

The motivating factor in conserving the environment can be foundin the Bible whereby it states that everything in the earth belongsto God and all those who live in the land are His. Later, in the bookof (Proverbs 24:1), it states that God considered men unique and theywere supposed to take care of the environment and everything that ason earth. Thus, it is the work of the Christian as per the Gods planto care for the environment. The Christians take it as their duty totake care of the environment. They get motivated as thisresponsibility was given to them and they were to rule over all theearthly creatures

Data Supporting the Argument

Christians are Supposed to be Dedicated to Caring the Environment

It is approximated the 80% of the world’s pastforest coverage has been lost. In addition, 5-10% of indigenousspecies have become extinct. For instance, 27% of world’s coralreefs have be eliminated and human beings continue to use about 50%of the resources, which is an alarming rate. Even though theChristians have been taking care of the environment, they should bededicated to improving the environmental conditions (Hitzhusen 55).When God created Adam and Eve, He kept them in Eden and gave them theobligation to taking care of the Garden of Eden. dam. As stewards, weare supposed to take care of that which we have as polluting it isdefiling God`s work.

God’s Example and Instruction Regarding Taking Care of the Earth

He Created Adamand Eve to take care of the environment shows that as Christians weare entitled to conserve and restore the environment. After God hadcreated man, he gave some instructions regarding the conservation ofthe environment. The day he finished creating Adam and Eve, they wereto stay in Eden. The garden was full of all sorts of trees andfruits. They were instructed by God to take care of the backyard, andthey were allowed to eat the fruits in the garden but not the resultat the center of the backyard. God saw the man to be a responsiblecreature, and that is why he was placed in the Garden of Eden to takecare of it. The animals and the other creatures on the earth were tobe taken care of by man. As Christian, God has entrusted us with theenvironment to take of it, and thus we are supposed, to be honest inour dealings that concern the environment. Every undertaking of thehuman being should be based on honesty and integrity as these valuesdo help in conserving the environment.

Actions that Christians Can Take to Conserve the Environment

The situation needs to be conserved starting from thereduction of pollution and the environmental degradation all the wayto the restoration of the environment. Christians can take manyactions in the attempt of conserving the environment. Some of themare recycling, use of renewable sources of energy and helping inreducing pollution. In the case of restoration of the environment, itcan be from planting trees in the deforested areas and making surethat any activities that are taken are aiming at either restoring orconserving the environment. The Christians can create awarenessamongst the people and show them that they are supposed to use asubstance that least pollutes the environment. For instance, theChristians can advise the people solar energy in lighting their homesand the wind power. That can also use the fuels with low content oflead, as the lead is harmful to the health of people. The Christianscan encourage the recycling of plastics and other non-biodegradablesas they hardly decompose and they end up polluting soil (Hitzhusen63).

The industries are supposed to be advised onnot releasing the contaminated water into the rivers. Thecontaminated water from the systems makes the waters in the riversbeing toxic. Once the waters are contaminated, the aquatic creatureis exposed to high risk of losing lives. Thus, the Christians areentitled to take concrete measures that will help them solve theproblem of environmental pollution. Despite the conservation, thereis need to have the aspects of the environment that can be rectifiedto restore the environment.

Exploration to Show How Logically the Data Is Connected

Warrant

When God created man, God gave the man theresponsibility of worshiping and praising God. That is the only thingthat God could not do for Himself. Later on, he gave the man theresponsibility of taking acre of the earth and everything that was init. The Christians are therefore due to the responsibility of takingcare of the environment and everything else that is in it. God hasgiven the Christians the ability to use their voice in controllingthe environment through their voices. Such can be done througheducating people on the essence of conserving the environment.

Evidence that Shows that Logic Used in Security is Good regardingRealism and Theory

Evidence for Warrant

Christians are created in the image of God. Therefore, Christians are expected to resemble their creator. Theonly way the Christians can keep off from doing wrong is praying thatGod does not lead them into temptations (Hitzhusen 69). TheChristians can be tempted to destroy the environment. For instance, they can be tempted to cut trees that encourage soil erosion. Theycan be tempted to release toxic substances either in water, atmosphere or the soil and such elements lead to environmentaldegradation. As a Christian, one should avoid indulging in activitiesthat lead to environmental degradation. They should rather be moreinvolved in restoring the environment as well as conserving theexisting one.

The Christians are supposed to be environmentoriented for them to ensure that the environment is ever clean. TheBible states that cleanliness is next to Godliness. With such astatement in the minds of the Christians, they are supposed to worktowards making the environment clean (Hitzhusen 70). Thus, thepollution will be reduced largely and enhance them in restoring theenvironment. Christians ought to take care of the environment as theytake care of their bodies. Conserving the environment should be amotivation from within. Each Christian has an obligation to keep theenvironment clean even though it is a free will.

Discussion on Counter Arguments and Provide Rebuttal

Counter Argument

The actions of Jesus found in St. Luke`s gospel showsthat Christians are supposed to care about one another. Humanity isgiven the first the priority. The idea might seem to contradict as inthe Old Testament the environmental conservation has been carriedgreat weight.

Rebuttal Counters to the Argument

According to the Bible (1 Thessalonians 4:1), theChristians are supposed to walk in the ways that please God, and thiscan only be possible through doing the Gods will (Hitzhusen 73).Thus, the Christians are supposed to take care of the environment asGod the creator expects it of them.

Conclusion

All the things that have are God-given, and theybelong to Him. God gave them to us to take care of them. Therefore, the Christians have a free will to choose whether to care for theenvironment or not. The decision to caring for the environment willvary as per an individual’s views. Since God instructed us to carefor the environment, the results of failing to care for theenvironment impacts on Christians negatively.
