TheMuseum of Modern Arts
Myvisit to the Museum of Modern Arts (MoMA) was very informativebecause of the numerous artifacts that offered historicalsignificance and also learning activities such as workshops andconferences. The visit at the MoMA was organized by our history classwith the objective of learning more about the world’s history. Ourhistory class lecturer supported the idea and came up with a plan tovisit the museum to supplement the theory aspect of the subject. Theclass representatives chose the MoMA because of its richness inmodern collections such as sculpture, electronic media, design, andpaintings (Falk, 2016). The visit to the museum was remarkable sincewe got the opportunity to see the finest artwork collections in theworld.
of the Observations
Inthe museum, there were various segments that were designed dependingon what the visitors needed. For instance, the MoMA has a library, artifacts, sculptures, and historical drawings. The theory class ofWorld War II was exemplified through ancient drawings such as tanksamong other war weapons (Falk, 2016). Moreover, there were somevideos that cast pictures and scenes of the war. The experience wasgood, and I got to learn and retain what I had acquired in the class.Founded in 1932, the architecture and design department offer a broadrange of drawings and models. Moreover, the MoMA has the bestartworks collections around the world. It has over 150, 000 artworkpieces of the modern Western and around 20, 000 films (Falk, 2016).Further, the MoMA Library offers a wide range of books and servicesthrough its online platform. There are over 300,000 books, and thelibrary is usually open to researchers, after making an appointment(Falk, 2016).
Implicationof the Visit to my Career Aspirations
Thevisit to the MoMA made a significant impact on my career goals andobjectives through the educative forums such as workshops andconference. Additionally, the numerous artworks around the museumprovided essential information about the significance of historicalevents and figures. Some dedicated employees offered guidance tostudents and answered questions related to the artworks. Somespecialists delved into providing career advice and how students canachieve their learning goals. I am studying anthropology, and myvisit to the museum has made me redefine my objectives. I wasmotivated and inspired by the social experience at the museum. Thecultural and historical artifacts make a significant part of theheritage and provide educative information to students and thegeneral population.
Themost interesting part of the museum visit was the artifact video andvisual scenes of the World War II. It was so exciting to go back tothe early 20th century and view some of the scenes of the war. Ienjoyed the entire visit to the museum because everything was amazingand unique. The activity widened my network since I got the chance tomeet other students and professionals in the field of anthropology. Ihad an informative conversation with my colleagues and shared ideasabout the profession.
Inconclusion, the MoMA is a nice place to learn about social, cultural, and historical facts. I would recommend scholars with particularinterests in history or cultural subjects because it has adequatematerials and information that make learning interesting. As a way ofinspiring scholars, the museum ought to provide some extra freevisits to students majoring in history fields.
