Iam very dedicated to whatever I commit myself to do. My instances inmy life I have had to forgo what everyone else would run for so as toattain a long term goal. This part of what intend to bring to school. For instance, when the country was going through the toughestfinancial crisis in history, everyone people were forced to go andtake up jobs with lower pay where they had to work long hours to earna living. On my side, I knew accepting those jobs would only endangermy income. I thought of how I would get a permanent solution to thisproblem. I opted to market my services to estate planning attorneyand had to notarize their trusts for free to get the opportunity toshow the Attorney`s that I was dedicated and hard working. This gaveme the opportunity to get in front of clients and show them that Iwas knowledgeable and could offer them several different services. Iwas helping the Attorney`s, helping their customers and building arepeat business for myself without actually asking for business.
Inthe course of helping the attorneys make their money while I wasmaking none myself, I made a name for myself and slowly built acustomer base since I was visible. By thinking outside of the boxduring a tough time, I was able to overcome adversity. If I were ashort termed person, then I would have never made my big break intothe real estate business. I would have been still working with otherindividuals in the low-paying jobs during the tough economic times. This is the spirit I wish to bring to Pepperdine University`sGraziadio School of Business. I believe if students and people aroundme focused on the bigger picture other than the short term goals, they could achieve much more in a shorter duration. I also lovechallenges. I do not view challenges as obstacles rather I perceivethem as opportunities to catapult me to the next level. As seen inthe scenario above, when tough economic times were stressing peopleand forcing them to work under deplorable conditions for less, I tookit as an opportunity to volunteer and gain more knowledge that wouldhelp not only in the tough financial times but even long afterward. I also bring the spirit of problem-solving to Pepperdine University`sGraziadio School of Business. When faced with a challenge I rarelypanic. That`s when I take my time to ponder, and I always come upwith a lasting solution. When everyone else sees impossibility, I tryto see a possibility and formulate a solution. This ability has mademany people perceive me as a motivator and someone they can turn towhen things are not working out as they should. I will bring thisspirit to the classroom, and I hope to inspire and help peopleperceive hard times as I do. I change the world by inspiring a soul aday.
