What Lesson I learned in High School That Did Not Originate from aBook Work
Thelessons I learned from high school will forever enable me to facelife with courage and determination. Although I treasure bookwork, what did not come out of the classroom has seen me interact withdiverse people and learn new ideas often. The paper discusses thekey lessons I learned in high school that comprises upholdingcommunication skills, patience and respect, which are essentialspillars of success in life.
Constant interaction with teachers and schoolmates taught me theimportance of strong communication skills. I interacted withindividuals of different characters and ambitions. I witness severalpeople collide due to differing opinions and quarrel or engage in afight. The secret of harmonious friendships is sustained by wisecommunication with other individuals (Hynes,445). One should avoid dissensions that breed enmity. Ilearned to listen keenly and ask for clarification before expressingmy perception. Since in high school, I have been able to makeinnumerable friends with limited disagreements, a trait that I willuphold in my entire life.
During the years in high school, I learned to respect allindividuals regardless of their age or status. Humans` beings craveto be valued, and they reciprocate. Respect has enabled to interactfreely with my friends, who trust me with their confidentialinformation. Respect has also enabled me to receive immediateassistance from my friends and even strangers.
One’s life isreplete with challenges and disappointments. I high school, I couldscore below my expectations, which was likely to dampen my spirit.Nevertheless, I learned that a failure in a subject or sport inschool means that one need to be more devoted and consult with theexperienced individuals. I learned that only through patience indifficulties, one could achieve the set targets.
In conclusion, whatI learned out of books in high school is immemorial. I learned tointeract harmoniously with people and treat all people with respect. Moreover, I understood the importance of being patient in challengingsituations.
