Why I Choose Nursing as a Course
WhyI Choose Nursing as a Course
Nursing plays a crucial role in positively influencing people’shealth. My quest for joining the health sector as professional beganwhen I was young. I was uncertain on the particular line of study Iwould venture into in undertaking my studies in the health sector. However, the personal experiences I had growing up played a crucialrole in influencing my choice of joining the nursing profession.Individuals have the responsibility of taking care of others at theslightest opportunity and in any capacity that they can.
A career in nursing provides one with opportunities that cannot beaccessed in a different line of study. Nursing provides one withunique challenges and opportunities depending on the nature ofhospital setting that one is working (Khamisa et al., 660). I findpersonal satisfaction in facing challenges that are self-fulfilling.I understand that as a nurse, each day comes with its opportunitiesand challenges. The best part is when one finds an opportunity totransform and positively influence the life of a hopeless patient. Iwas motivated by the experiences one would have as a nurse positivelychanging the lives of hopeless patients.
The nursing profession has been described as being outstanding asdepicted in the dynamics it is composed of. As a nurse, I have theopportunity to work in a different setting depending on myqualifications. For example, registered nurses and the advanced nursepractitioners have defined roles in the health care facility, buteach of them can work in a variety of setting (Freund et al., 730).Further, I believe that through nursing, I will be able to fulfill mypersonal interest to serve the sick.
The choice to study nursing was equally guided by the fact that Iwould have the opportunity to work in partnership with professionalsfrom other disciplines. The desire to learn and interact with othersis realized in a setting that allows for the same. Through nursing, Iwould be able to work as a team with the other health-careprofessionals to achieve identified goals and objectives. I chosenursing as it offered an avenue for collaborative partnerships whereI can coordinate my work with other professionals to attain the besttreatment outcomes for patients presenting at the hospital.
The demand for nurses continues to increase courtesy of the rise inhealth care problems. The choice to study nurses was guided by theunderstanding that the career will provide opportunities for growthsince the demand is always increasing. The society requires nursingservices, and this creates a gap that should be filled. The essentialservices provided by the nurses negates the need to have asignificant percentage enroll for nursing studies. My choice toundertake a study in nursing is guided by the understanding that Iwill be able to bridge the gap already created by the currentshortage of nurses. The training in nursing will be essential inensuring that people access the vital healthcare service resulting inenhanced patient outcomes (Health Education England, 2016).Consequently, I believe I would be able to improve the quality oflife of people by discharging my services to them.
Overall, the choice to undertake nursing studies has been influencedby various factors. The world requires nursing services, and Ibelieve through my professional training, it would be possible todischarge the same. Nursing provides personal satisfaction as regardsto my career choice.
